Board Membership and Responsibilities

The Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Board, Inc. (WDB) is a partnership of public- and private-sector organizations committed to the cultivation of a dynamic workforce development system that stimulates economic development. Created under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the Board serves the counties of Buffalo, Crawford, Jackson, La Crosse, Juneau, Monroe, Trempealeau and Vernon.

As one of Wisconsin's 11 local boards, WDB oversees the local system which provides workforce education, training, and employment services designed to help employers find skilled workers and help job seekers prepare for, find and retain employment.

The Board also administers federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds for the region by providing strategic direction to a myriad of organizations focused on improving the workforce and community as a whole.
